About the story

Robert Munsch met Madison and her mother at the Easter Seals Telethon. He had been volunteered to take part by Lauretta, the kid who is in Zoom! He was on TV for 10 hours!

Madison was there, with a flower painted on her cheek. She took care of his coat when he was on TV and he made up this story for her on the spot. He made up lots of stories there but this was the one that he liked the best. Later, he visited her school to tell it to her class.

Look at Me! takes place in Madison's hometown of Orangeville, Ontario, and all the action takes place on the main street. The next year at the telethon, Madison had a butterfly painted on her face. She asked Munsch how the story was doing. He told her he was telling it a lot and that it was going to be a book!
